| 5. | What if I have an emergency maintenance request after normal business hours? Outside normal business hours, please contact the Homewood Security Department at 410-516-4600. They will process your request and contact the appropriate staff to respond to the emergency. |
| 6. | How do I check the status of my work request? You can check the status of a work request by contacting the Homewood Campus Call Center at 410-516-8063. We are currently working to develop a program to check work request status online. The estimated completion time for this project is 8 months. |
| 7. | Do I have to pay for my work request? Routine maintenance on the Homewood Campus is free of charge. All other (non-routine) work is generally billable. View our list of typical routine and non-routine work. |
| 8. | Do I have to pay to have my office painted? Plant Operations will paint your office free of charge, as scheduling allows, if it has not been painted in more than 7 years. Plant Operations does charge departments that require painting to be done outside normal business hours or at time frames that can’t be reasonably scheduled. |
| 9. | Does Plant Operations charge for estimates? Plant Operations charges actual labor time for estimates. For example, if an estimate takes 15 minutes to determine and document, then that labor is charged and billed. As a convenience, Plant Operations will add the estimate time onto the final bill when the work is complete rather than charge the estimate separately. Estimates are good for thirty days. Estimates older than 30 days that have not been approved to proceed will automatically be billed. |
| 10. | Can I hire a contractor to perform work in my office? Yes, you can hire a contractor to perform work in your office. However, any work that involves utilities such as electricity, HVAC, ITS, or plumbing must be reported to Plant Operations before proceeding. Consequently, any work that requires Plant Operations to assist contractors or repair damage done by a contractor, is billable. |
